Tornado Mage Caster Shaman Build Last Epoch 00:00

Tempest Strike is replaced by Gathering Storm which boosts Stormbolt following Patch 1.0 Last Epoch. This skill is not to be cast and boosts Storm Bolt passively. THE Tool Shaman Tornado has been updated and overall the build is much stronger.

Introduction

This Shaman uses several spells to summon lightning on all your enemies. It's a very nice build to play that gives you a lot of mobility (can easily go up to 120% movement speed) and very high area clearing speed. However, be careful with your placements, this Shaman is not made for prolonged melee combat.

Build Explanation:

The Shaman benefits from an important bonus of elemental resistances and Attunement. These are the two characteristics that we are going to maximize in order to be able to continuously cast spells without stopping and trigger our lightning bolts repeatedly. Combined with the Urzil's Pride Armor your Electric Resistance will give you very good mana regen while the Attunement will give you a great amount of mana. The Spirit Warden passive and the Spriggan's aura will give you the life regeneration you need to survive.

All your skills are described below:

  • Tornado: This is your first damage spell, you summon a slow moving tornado, nearby enemies will be hit by lightning regularly.
  • Maelstrom: this spell will initially be used for damage and then for support. This skill can be accumulated, from a certain number of stacks you will automatically launch lightning on your enemies and you will also obtain the bonus "Haste" which gives you 30% of movement speed and "Fury" which gives you 20% of spell speed.
  • Storm Totem: The totem will only play in support, it will give you lightning damage, movement speed when it shocks and stuns enemies for you.
  • Summon Spriggan: The Spriggan will give you a large amount of critical strike chance, spell damage, and life regen. His active summons a healing zone around him.
  • Gathering Storm: to boost Storm Bolt, which will be done automatically without launching the skill

To sum up, this build is simple to play but requires some getting used to in your placements and mana management if you don't want to lose your area clearing speed.

Talent Tree

  • Basic class (25 points): Natural Attunement, Hunter's Restoration, Wisdom of the Wild, Tempest bond
  • Shaman (67 points): Shamanic Infusion, Silent Protector, Tempest Form, Storm Bringer, Avatar of Thunder, Rune of Awe, Elemental Shrines, Lagon's Anwser, Conflux
  • Druid (15 points): Chitinous Plating, Spirit Warden, Thicket of Thorns

Items to collect

This build does not need a unique item to work although some are highly recommended, for your items, choose:

  • Lightning damage / spell damage
  • Crit Chance
  • Attenuation
  • Elemental resistances, armor, vitality and life percentage

For your idols, several choices are available to you, critical chances on lightning spells (your lightning bolts and not your tornadoes therefore) and spell damage when you have a totem in play or even chances of summoning a totem when you hit an enemy with a skill. The Urzil's Pride armor is widely recommended for this build, it is a common drop and you will have no difficulty obtaining it. The Peak of the Mountain helmet is also recommended to give a significant boost to your critical hits, it can be obtained in the first level of the Lightless Arbor dungeon. If you want to use other unique items, the following are recommended:

  • Stormcarved Testament, this relic is just perfect for you, you have chances to summon your storm totem, lightning damage, lightning penetration, lightning and physical resistance and also Attunement. It also gives your totem chances to shock enemies which will more easily activate your Storm Totem passives.
  • Eye of Storms, this amulet increases your damage based on how many Maelstroms you stack. It will increase your spell speed and your resistances to lightning and cold.

Gameplay

The gameplay is quite simple, when you enter an area, summon your Spriggan and leave it alone for the rest of the game. Then launch your Maelstrom, always keep an eye on the number of stacks you have in progress and the number of stacks loading (keep at least 6 stacks of Maelstrom for your lightning and Haste and relaunch the skill as soon as you have accumulated all three Lagon's Slumber charges, then simply move around and nonstop throwing your Tornado at enemies, the lightning bolts will do the rest.

For bosses and rare, remember to aim Tornado on him, tornadoes will block your view less (and you will have an easier time seeing enemy skills) and lightning will be focused on him, so you will have a bigger DPS . This Shaman is not a melee character, so remember to dodge and avoid unnecessary blows.

When you are out of mana, approach a target and use Tempest Strike until you recover your mana.
