Namely

As a preamble to explain the method to properly drop and manage watchstones, here is what you need to know:

  • Each card bonus objective gives you a 1% chance of finding a card of a higher tier
    • It will therefore be crucial to have the most map bonuses, in order to supply yourself with maps.
    • For example, it will be very easy to drop maps T13, T14 by doing a T12 with about sixty completed bonus objectives
  • You can only drop maps that are available on your Atlas
    • It will therefore be impossible for example to drop a T12 card if you do not have it displayed on the card.
    • On the other hand, you will be able to drop only T12 cards displayed on the card.
  • I advise you to always kill the map boss, he often drops a map or even a master mission.

The method below allows you to optimize the watch stones in order to drop useful maps and never run out of maps.

Atlas level 0, first maps

As soon as you have finished story mode with the epilogue, you will be able to start the maps. The objective will be to go to the outer regions of the Atlas. It is divided into 8 regions, four internal and four external. The first conquerors are present in the latter. Here is the list of regions:

  • Central, south-eastern region: Valdo's rest
  • Central region, southwest: Cairns of Glennach
  • Central region, north-west: edge of Tirn
  • Central region, northeast: Lex proxima
  • Outer, Southeast Region: Lira Arthain
  • Outer region, southwest: new Vastir
  • Outer region, north-west: hamlet of Haewark
  • Outer, northeast region: Lex ejoris

The beginning of Atlas is suddenly quite simple, it will be necessary to chain the different maps and to follow the following steps:

  • Make each new map in minimum magic rarity (via a transmutation orb).
  • If you don't have a new map, buy them from Zana.
  • Do your Zana quests to discover new maps
  • Avoid redoing an already validated map.
  • Pick up all the maps you find, consider using a filter.
  • Sell the same map in 3 copies to obtain a new one of the higher rank.

You should have all the maps you need to reach the outer regions and start spawning conquerors.

Atlas level 1 to 4

Once you've reached the outer regions and after making a map or two in them, you should spawn the conquerors. Each one appears after three maps activated in its region (it is not necessary to complete the map but I recommend it, see "Good to know"):

  • Baran the Crusader, lightning damage
  • Drox the Warlord, physical damage
  • Veritania the Redeemer, Ice Damage
  • Al-Hezmin, chaos damage

Here is what I advise you to simply improve your atlas:

  • Continue to make the improved white maps into magic.
  • Make the upgraded yellow maps into rare (alchemy orb)
  • As soon as you kill a Conqueror, put their Watchstone in the area where you killed them.
  • Buy maps from Zana as needed and complete her missions.
  • Continue to map the area and insert the watchstones until you have collected all four.

Once you have completed a region, that is to say that you have collected the four Awakening Stones:

  • Remove all the stones from the region and put 3 or 4 in a region with 4 watchstones to collect.
  • Read the indication on the altar in the region "number of watch stones to reveal the conqueror".
  • At the beginning 3 will be enough, then it will be necessary to put four each time.
  • Put at least three, even if the required number is two, otherwise you may not have too many high-tier maps.
  • Work on two regions max, it will be easier in terms of obtaining maps.

To switch from one region to another, use what I call a transition map:

  • I have completed my region, I have a Tier 12 map in stock of this region
  • I remove and replace all my standby stones as indicated above, and I run my map of the region that has just been emptied of its stones
  • Since I have enough bonuses, I would almost certainly drop a map from the right region.
  • I use this one in my new region to start again to drop maps of the region that interests me.

If you ever run out of interesting maps for the region:

  • Launch a map from another region of at least tier 10.
  • Visit Zana to see her stock of red maps.
  • Do the rituals that will give a lot of loot and potentially drop a map.
  • Optionally buy one of the correct tier from a player.

Remember if possible to finish the red maps in corrupt rare, in order to add the drop map bonus. Be careful, these are often complex and you will probably die if you do not have already powerful equipment. If in doubt, use them when your experience bar is almost empty (to avoid losing too many xp due to repeated deaths).

Atlas level 4 to 8

Once you've cleared multiple regions, Buddy Sirus will come join the party and be accessible as soon as you've killed each of the Conquerors. He's obviously very hard to fall for, and if you really don't stand a chance you can resort to a Sirus killer service via the chat / global 820 in. I still recommend that you learn the mechanics of the boss and practice dropping him, because it's okay if you don't kill him, you just won't get his loot potential. All you have to do is do the same technique:

  • Maximum two regions with unrecovered watchstones.
    • That is to say two full sockets regions, and the rest stored to the left of the Atlas!
    • Be careful, conquerors can appear in regions without dropping the watchstone, so you will waste a lot of time!
  • Try to make the red ones into corrupt rare.
  • Zana's mission or its maps for sale if you are short, but normally if you had followed the guide you should be full!

For comparison, in Atlas level 4 with 90/164 I drop about 2 to 3 third party maps 14 +, it's also a great way to make money if you want to sell them to players.

To do regardless of your Atlas level

This is not directly related to increasing your Atlas level, but here is what advises you in order to progress well:

  • always do proc the Maven, if necessary you have this Maven guide
  • do the Jun missions, they give a lot of experience as well as very interesting crafting mods

Once this method is well integrated, the improvement of your Atlas will be done very quickly and without any hassle. Just remember to follow this method because all points are important! If you ever have a problem or a misunderstanding, do not hesitate to post a comment!
