Tunche, a game mixing scroller and rogue-lite, playable in local coop and reminiscent of Lost Castle, Castle Crashers or Hades!
A preview, that is?
Unlike deeper tests, the preview allows you in a few minutes to get an idea of the game. You will therefore have very few spoilers and all the important information very quickly, especially if you want to get an idea before you go. buy it but still keep the surprise!
Nagging but technical gameplay
I always like to start my tests and glimpses with the gameplay, to go straight to the heart of the matter. The great thing about Tunche is that it combines Beat Em All gameplay with super nervous action gameplay. You will therefore have to manage your combos on the ground and in the air, but also your dodges in order to avoid the numerous attacks of the various enemies. The gameplay is tough and will require good handling of your character!
A nagging and demanding gameplay
Rogue-lite galore
Who says rogue-lite says they want to play the game again to improve their character. And it's hard to stop playing Tunche! You will be able to improve the five characters independently but also some overall improvements of the game. You will also be able to progress in the history of your characters and always progress further and further. In short, this is a very good point for Tunche!
Lots of improvements for the rogue-lite side
An air of great classics
Personally a fan of this type of game, it will seduce you if you like the following games:
- Lost Castle, probably the closest, but with much more dynamic gameplay on Tunche
- Streets of Rage, the gameplay very inspired by the series
- Castle Crashers, for the coop side, scrolling and character improvement
- Hades, although a little further away, you can choose the next room and improve the story of your characters
It's hard not to think of Hades, but a very practical system!
A design not for everyone
Only a little negative point remains for me its design, even if it is very clean, the cartoon aspect can be a bit disappointing, especially in view of the overall quality of the rest of the game.
The cartoon design of the game
If you fancy having a good time, especially with a group of people on the couch, you can mindlessly pick up Tunche and start Try It Hard! With a good lifespan, rogue-lite and demanding gameplay, it will undoubtedly delight fans of the genre!
