Origin of the change, the two patches notes

Here are the changes from the patch notes:

Start of D2: the wall of fire bug quite a bit

Blizzard Patch: Fixed long-standing bugs with Fire Wall related to orientation of the fire wall not dealing full potential damage, and also bugs related to collision of the fire wall. Basically, walls of fire work well and you can do double damage (not wanted by the patch)

Following this patch: the wall of fire is great!

Blizzard Patch: Patch Fixed an issue where overlapping Fire Wall or Blaze missiles could cause increased damage, they remove the fact that the wall of fire can do double damage, but not that ...

Is the wall of fire ??

Does it work or not?

I have put some examples for you in the video of where the wall of fire works and where it does not.

Conclusion, is the wall of fire still viable?

Here is the summary of the wall of fire:

  • it is no longer possible to do more damage than expected
  • if the wall of fire hits a wall, it does almost no damage
  • the wall of fire is therefore less strong and buggy, even if it still works

With the patch of Thursday, December 2 on Diablo 2 Resurrected, it is now difficult to play well the firewall firewall. You can optionally turn to Meteor as an alternative, which does less damage but at least won't be bugged. Note that it also depends on your types of runs, if you do instances with a lot of walls, it will be difficult to play Wall of Fire!
