Whispering Obols and Diablo 4 Curiosity Merchant

It is none other than the purple currency of the world of Diablo IV. It can be exchanged at the curiosities merchant, which is indicated on the map by a small purse accompanied by stacked coins. This is available in all major cities. There are various ways to obtain them by order of profitability, we have:

• All open world events (orange), for example: stopping rituals, defending NPCs against waves of enemies or even world bosses like Ashava.
• All dungeon and cave events are scattered around, however their occurrence in these locations is random.
• Successfully mastering the event will increase your Obol gain

You can check your total of obols owned in your character sheet at the very bottom with the other resources. It is therefore easy for you to consult your reserves and thus avoid finding yourself overdrawn. Please note that this total is common to all your characters.

These purple pieces are the best way to equip yourself efficiently and quickly, if you're lucky. The curiosities merchant will be happy to exchange all this currency for an object of your choice that you will be able to choose from his stock. This item is random, it can be legendary, rare or common. May luck carry you!

• off-hand – 40 whispering obols
• main hand – 50 whispering obols
• two-handed weapon – 75 whispering obols
• helmet – 40 whispering obols

All the objects are therefore totally random, except for the last one which is the whispering key. It is used to open chests called silent chests, found randomly on the shrine map. These mysterious boxes contain useful items for your character, if you can find them.

When to spend your obols?

We recommend that you save up the Obols as much as possible, so that you can make the most of them at the curiosities merchant and thus increase your chances of obtaining a legendary. At the start of the game, it will be interesting to collect a legendary weapon to increase your damage. Later, she will help you replace a weak piece of armor.
